Landscapes
Landscapes should be easy, you don’t need to sneak up on them, they don’t move, and wearing camouflage will make no difference at all!
So why are they so difficult? And what
should the perfect landscape include?
A chunk of land is a good start, but which one? A fenland? A seascape? Woodland? Mountains? It has to be a personal thing.
Light? Well obviously, but what type, at what angle and time of day? How will it interact with the land, does it bring the best out of the land?
Thoughts; what is it about the scene that does it for you? How can you communicate this?
Composition and lens choice, including or eliminating parts of the scene, this is about the precise framing of the shot.
Now all we need to do is get in position, set everything up, and persuade the light, clouds, and waves to do what we want. Easy!
